广东以色列理工学院（Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology，简称"GTIIT"）依托全球顶尖的理工科大学以色列理工学院（Technion - Israel Institute of Technology）而创办，是我国目前唯一一所理工科中外合作大学，也是以色列理工学院创建的中国校区。广东以色列理工学院是中以两国合作的旗舰项目，其建设得到两国政府的高度重视，以及广东省 人民政府、汕头市人民政府和李嘉诚基金会的全力支持。学校致力于培养具有创新能力、全球视野和人文素养的优秀科技人才。学校现任校长为中国科学院院士、科技部重大科学研究计划首席科学家、美国物理学会会士龚新高教授。常务副校长为国际知名纳米物理学家、原以色列科学基金会精密科学领域负责人David Gershoni 教授。
As
the only sino-foreign joint university focusing on science and
technology, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT)
is created with the world leading university, Technion - Israel
Institute of Technology, and acting as the China Campus of the Technion.GTIIT
is the flagship program in the cooperation between China and Israel,
and has been fully supported by the Guangdong Provincial Government,
Shantou Municipal Government and Li Ka Shing Foundation. GTIIT
cultivates pioneering scientists and researchers with innovation power,
global vision and humanities.Prof.
Gong Xingao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Principal
scientist of the Major Scientific Research Programs of the Ministry of
Science and Technology, Fellow of the American Physical Society, is the
Chancellor of GTIIT. Prof. David Gershoni, distinguished scientist in
nano-physics, former head of the precision science field of Israel
Science Foundation, is the Vice Chancellor of GTIIT.
